1996-2007 Centre of Lightweight Structures TUD-TNO
Both the Delft based contract research organisation TNO and Delft University, faculty of Aerospace Engineering, recognized the growing demand over the last decade for lightweight structures in non-aerospace markets. To meet this demand adequately from a view-point of market-oriented research and development, we started in June 1996 the Centre of Lightweight Structures TUD-TNO. November 2005 we started our company called Lightweight Structures B.V. with a focus on creative product development, engineering and manufacturing of lightweight structures. Until December 2007 we were a 100% subsidiary of TNO Bedrijven B.V. 31 December 2007 the investment funds Private Plus Fund and Heicop together with the management acquired all shares in Lightweight Structures B.V. from TNO Bedrijven B.V. December 2008 - June 2010 Because the number of design & construct projects increased we had our production carried out by Rep-Air Composites B.V. in Ypenburg. July 2010 - September 2010 We produced a few parts in the facilities of our neighbours in Delft. October 2010 We started production in Breukelen. |
